POV demo is a player’s game record from the first perspective (player’s actions and his point of view).
It is mandatory to record the demo at every match. Lack of demo leads to non-payment of prizes.
To record the demo in CS: GO you have to open a console with the button (~), it is located near the Esc button.
If the console cannot be opened, that means that it is turned off in the game settings. Open the game settings cog and set “Yes” in front of “Enable Developer Console (~)”.
Next in the console window type the command (where NAME is any name for the demo):
record NAME
To stop the demo recording type the command:
stop
Demo will be saved in the folder with CS:GO, e.g.:
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo\NAME.dem
In this folder you can transfer other people's demos. To view the demo you have to open a record player, type the following command to open the player:
demoui
Or:
demoui2
Or press the key combination Shift + F2.
Then press “Load…” in the opened player and select the demo.
At the review you are able to:
- Switch between players using key buttons left/right;
- CTRL — to open a map
- Space to switch a camera to the flight mode.
