1. General Conditions
1.1. WePlay! Dota 2 tournaments are governed by the following set of rules and regulations which apply to all participants in order to provide a fair and pleasant experience for all our users.
1.2. For violation of any of the clauses of the rules, the Referee reserves the right to issue a warning (verbal or written), a technical defeat, or a ban (the time is set by the Referee) based on the severity of the violation.
1.3. Repeated warnings may lead to a technical defeat of the team or the ban of the team/player for a certain period of time.
1.4. Google Chrome is the recommended browser to participate in the tournaments.
2. Tournament Format
2.1. Participants compete in a Single Elimination bracket - a single loss results in elimination from the tournament.
2.2. Teams are allowed to compete in a tournament with the same roster they have at the time of registering for the tournament.
2.3. Game Mode — 5v5 Captains Mode
2.4. All matches are played on a single map (Best of 1).
2.5. Tournament draw is done randomly by the system.
3. Game Rules
3.1. The main communication channel for organizing matches is WePlay! Esports Discord where participants must be present during the tournament in order to avoid technical defeat in case of technical system failures.
3.2. To make changes to the roster, it is necessary to unregister from the tournament, change players and register back. You can leave the tournament only once, otherwise it will be impossible to go back. If you change the roster after registration, it will not change for the tournaments you have already registered.
3.3. You will receive an automatic invitation to the match lobby at the start of the tournament. If a player does not sit in a player slot in the lobby in 5 minutes, the team receives a technical defeat. Teams are responsible for internet connection problems, client updates, or other technical difficulties that can stop them from showing up in time.
3.4. Every team can pause the game up to 10 minutes. The total number of pauses cannot exceed five per match. A team can keep the game paused for a longer period of time with the consent of the opponent.
3.5. Before resuming, the team who paused the game must make sure the other team is ready. The game can resume as soon as the opponent announces readiness.
3.6. The winner of the match is the team that destroys the opponent’s throne.
3.7. If your game has exceeded the 60 minute mark, you need to pause and inform a Dota2 Admin on WePlay! Esports Discord server that your game is delayed. Otherwise, you may receive a technical defeat.
3.8. A team that refuses to play a game again requested by the chief Judge receives a technical defeat and loses any prizes won in the tournament.
4.1. Pausing the game during draft.
4.2. Unpausing your opponent's pause during the first 10 minutes, unpausing your own pause without notifying your opponent and their approval, and not pausing the game when all the opposing team’s players have been disconnected from the game are all prohibited. If any of these actions happen, the Referee can penalize the team in violation of the rule with a technical defeat. To file a complaint, you need to provide the Referee with screenshots proving your opponent has violated this rule.
4.3. Continuing the game when more than one player of a team are disconnected. In this situation the team receives a technical defeat.
4.4 It is forbidden to swear, humiliate, provoke, abuse and deceive participants as well as judges during a tournament by any means. For such violations, the player/team may receive a warning or technical defeat and lose any prizes won. To report such behaviors, you must provide screenshots.
4.5. Unsportsmanlike behavior is prohibited. Examples of such acts include but is not limited to sabotaging a match, manipulation of rules, exploitation of bugs, and verbal abuse. Punishments range from a warning to total disqualification from the tournament.
4.6. A player/team name cannot include propaganda, racism, or any form of hatred towards representatives of a certain nationality.
4.7. A player/team avatar cannot contain violent images, pornographic material, propaganda, racism, or any form of hatred towards representatives of a certain nationality.
4.8. A player/team name cannot include a domain (for example: www.google.com or google.com). Such players/teams will not be allowed to participate in WePlay! tournaments.
4.9. Every user can only have one account on WePlay! tournament platform. Duplicate account owners will be penalized.
5.1. All claims of violation of the rules are accepted for consideration within 10 minutes after the game. If there are no claims after the specified time, the result of the match can no longer be changed. It is highly recommended to keep screenshots of all complaints, violations, misbehaviours, and match results until the end of the tournament.
5.2. Technical defeats are issued only after a Judge approves.
5.3. All the above mentioned rules are situational and can be interpreted differently by the Judges for each game in order to make the best decision.
5.4. Any situation not covered in the rules will be handled by the tournament administration.
5.5. Any participant in a disputed or conflicting situation is responsible for the accuracy of the information submitted.
5.6. Decisions of the Judges in any situation including those not described in these rules are final and not negotiable.
6. Prize and Miscellaneous
6.1. Prizes are awarded by Dota 2 items via Steam to the accounts of players of the winning teams on weplay.tv. Dota 2 items are issued separately to each player on the team.
6.2. In order for a prize to be awarded, the team winning the prize must have played at least a match in the tournament. Winning every match in a tournament by technical defeats does not make a participant eligible to receive a prize.
6.3 The tournament administration has the right to change and modify the rules at any time at its discretion.
